Weight Training Equipment

There are many different types of strength training equipments that one can use to get a great workout. The traditional approach is to simply get a bench and some weights along with a bar to put the weights for exercises like the squat or bench press. There are other popular weight training equipments you can consider and here is a list of a few:

Bowflex:

This product has been in the market for a while and has received a lot of praise from those that have tried it. Here is a picture of it if you haven’t seen it yet:

It uses power rod technology that is supposed to last a lifetime. We have owned this product and tested it and found it to be quite effective for most people’s purposes and the power rods are very reliable and do last a long time. If you are a heavy lifter then you should consider getting the additional power rods as you will soon max out the initial set that comes with the gym.

Gold’s Gym:

This is another popular brand name product actually used in most professional gyms by bodybuilders themselves. However the price of this product is on the higher end but the quality is probably the best and it will last a long time and serve you well provided it is in your budget. Here is a picture below:

The most inexpensive setup is to just get a bench and some free weights. You can do a lot of useful exercises with these two things so if money is an issue then consider this option.

SCT Equipment:

Static contraction training is a unique approach but proven to be effective for those that have tried it. The concept is simple and that is to train extremely heavy at the strongest range of motion for very brief time periods and then to make sure that you take enough rest between workouts. This goes against the traditional form of exercise workouts and routines where you are taught to workout 3 times a week doing several sets and repetitions per exercise.  Here is a picture of some SCT equipment:

 

Weight training can be very draining to your body so be sure to take appropriate rest between workouts. If you find that you cannot lift more weight in your next workout then you probably need to take more time off in order to fully recover.
