When people want to eliminate body fat from their core they usually resort to sit ups or stomach crunches. They usually concentrate on their abdominal muscles. However, the thing is that you can't actually spot reduce fat from your belly. To eliminate core body fat you need to reduce your over all body fat percentage.
Now, to reduce overall body fat percentage people usually resort to running and other cardio exercises. This works but not as well as what I am going to tell you. That's because a pound of fat takes 3,500 calories to burn. If you spend an hour on the treadmill you'll only burn about 500 leaving you 3,000 more calories to go. Did you know that muscle weighs more than fat? Consequently, the more muscle a body carries the harder it must work and the more fat it burns. So, the trick to eliminating core body fat is to lift weights and build muscle. But the type of exercises you will do are very important. They are called compound exercises because they work multiple muscle groups at the same time. Because of this they also strengthen your core muscles which act to keep the body in balance during the exercise.
These are exercises like the dead lift, bench press, clean and jerk, dumb bell snatch and others. One added benefit of these exercises is that your body exerts so much effort that it goes into metabolic shock and actually burns calories at a higher rate for days on end,
